Cristiano Ronaldo is at a crossroads in his career. According to Marca, he could stay in England with Newcastle or go to Saudi Arabia and play for Al-Nassr. It’s a tough decision, but he’s seriously considering both options. Whoever he chooses, it looks like he’ll soon be playing for Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Bin Salman, the heir to the throne, who has already tempted him once before. Ronaldo’s future is in the balance, and it could all be decided for sure during the winter market that opens on January 2.
Ronaldo’s fame transcends borders, and as a result, he has become an icon in soccer. Wherever he goes – England or Saudi Arabia – people take notice of his accomplishments.
Consequently, Ronaldo’s every choice will make headlines. He has a selection between two Saudi-owned properties because no other organization can pay his demanded wages, not even Chelsea. If you were in his position, what would you choose?
What Now for Man UTD?
What now for Manchester United? They need more attacking options in January, and Rudy Galetti has mentioned one new name. Marcus Thuram is a French footballer currently playing as a striker for Borussia Mönchengladbach. So far this season, he’s scored 10 goals in 15 Bundesliga games- not too shabby! He was called up to the World Cup squad but only served as backup to Olivier Giroud, but maybe he could come to Old Trafford instead?
Thuram’s contract is up at the end of this season, so that he can be bought for a fairly low price in January. Inter Milan and Juventus seem to be in the lead to sign him right now, but there are also rumors that Bayern Munich and Manchester United are interested too.
An alternative option for United would be to go after Cody Gakpo. The Dutchman scored in his nation’s opening World Cup match against Senegal and has claimed 13 goals and 17 assists for PSV this season. However, Gakpo is better suited as a left winger–a position United does not need to improve upon.
Joao Felix for PSG
PSG are looking to make a big splash in the January transfer window, and they have their sights set on Portuguese youngster Joao Felix. The forward has fallen out of favour at Atletico Madrid, and PSG believes he could be the perfect addition to their attack.
Bernardo Silva and Robert Lewandowski were both targets for PSG in the summer, but they could not land either player. However, they are confident they can sign Joao Felix in January and are prepared to pay the £105 million release clause in his contract.
The young Portuguese is a very talented player and would be a great addition to the PSG squad. He would give them much-needed firepower in their quest for Champions League glory.
