Selena Gomez Honored at 2013 Young Hollywood Awards
Who needs the Biebs when you’ve got the fans? Selena Gomez took the stage in Santa Monica on Thursday (August 1) to receive the Fan Favorite Album Award and Most Anticipated Tour Award at the 2013 Young Hollywood Awards.
Both awards were for Gomez’s Stars Dance album and tour. The 21-year-old’s fourth album just knocked Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail from the top spot of Billboard’s album chart. Stars Dance sold 97,000 copies in its first week.
This is Justin Bieber's ex’s first time at the top of the album chart. And if that weren't enough, Gomez is also the youngest solo female artist to make it to number one as her pal Taylor Swift previously held that ranking.
While the former Disney star's past projects have done well, including 2009's Kiss and Tell (which opened at No. 9), 2010's A Year Without Rain (which ranked No. 4), and 2011's When the Sun Goes Down (which peaked at No. 3), Gomez has once again topped herself.
