Spanish National Team Celebrates World Cup Win

Fresh off of their very first World Cup championship, the Spanish National Soccer Team arrived to a heroes welcome at the Madrid airport on Monday (July 12).

With team members including Gerard Pique, Fernando Llorente, David Villa, Andres Iniesta, Xabi Alonso and Iker Casillas all deboarding the plane, the footballers were cheered by airport staffers while heading to awaiting transportation.

Shakira's Closing Ceremony World Cup Performance

Making for quite the appropriate choice, the Colombian beauty dazzled the crowd as she enthusiastically performed the World Cup theme song "Waka Waka" to the joy of the thousands in attendance.

Shakira: World Cup Closer

She’s gearing up for the closing ceremony of the 2010 World Cup soccer tournament, and Shakira is ready to sing and dance for fans from all over the world.

The massive event, scheduled to take place on July 11th, two hours prior to the final game at Soccer City, will be punctuated by the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer’s rendition of “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).”

Taking on Spain for a quarterfinal berth on Tuesday (June 29) in Pretoria, Ronaldo and his squad were held scoreless - ending up losing the battle of Iberian peninsula neighbors by a score of 1-0.
