Taking to the air to clear up rumors claiming that she "hit" guest Michaele Salahi on "The View" on Wednesday (August 5), co-host Whoopi Goldberg has since denied any such doing while defending her actions.

Upon walking to her seat, Whoopi told the audience on Thursday's show, "Things got very heated on the air and backstage. I come out [on set] sometimes just ‘cause I wanna. That’s the way I do it here."

Miss Goldberg continued, "Michaele was very upset about what was said about her on the air. She thought I hit her. I went up to her and told her that she knew I didn't hit her."

While admitting to have used a few inappropriate words, Whoopi said that Michaele and husband Tareq were "so choice you could have taken them with a knife and eaten them."

Clearly not ashamed for her verbal tirade, Goldberg finished by saying, "I make no apology for my choice words."
