Barbara Walters: I’m Retiring Summer 2014

It’s been a recurring rumor for quite some time, and finally Barbara Walters has confirmed she’ll be saying goodbye to “The View” next summer.

The legendary journalist made the big announcement last night (May 12), noting that she’ll still serve as an executive producer following her departure.

And this morning (March 11) honcho Barbara Walters immediately took issue with the claims that Hasselbeck got canned, noting that she wanted to address “a particularly false story.”

She’s been the lone voice of the conservative viewpoint for close to a decade on “The View,” but Elisabeth Hasselbeck won’t be back on the couch next season.

The beautiful blonde 35-year-old apparently didn’t have enough pull with the show’s audience to justify keeping her on the panel any longer.

Barbara Walters Returns to "The View" on Monday

After being MIA since her hospitalization during the presidential inauguration, Barbara Walters is ready to return to her seat on "The View."

On Tuesday morning, the 83-year-old journalist phoned into the show to announce that she would be back on Monday. Speaking with the whole crew, including her substitute, Brooke Shields, she shared, "I really miss you."

They’re in the final six weeks of the re-election campaign, and President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle made an appearance on “The View” today (September 25).

Prior to his duties at the UN General Assembly this week, the Commander-In-Chief chatted about the important election in November while Michelle tended to laud compliments on her hubby.
