Gerard Butler's “Coriolanus” Makes TIFF Debut
Bringing a classic to life on the silver screen, “Coriolanus” made a big splash when it premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival today (September 12).
Big names like Gerard Butler, Jessica Chastain, and Ralph Finnes (who directed and starred in the flick) all converged on the Elgin Theatre’s Visa Screening room to give the festival audience their first glimpse of the Shakespearean history play.
“Coriolanus” is described as “a drama for the ages, a commentary on the precarious draw of war and an auspicious directorial debut from one of the world’s great classical actors.”
And for everyone who wasn’t lucky enough to see it at TIFF, we’ll have to wait until “Coriolanus” hits theaters January 13th, 2012.
