Celebrities Tweet Farewell Messages to Jay Leno
Bringing an end to his 22-year reign hosting “The Tonight Show,” Jay Leno was on the receiving end of some seriously amazing wishes from many of his celebrity pals.
“SexyBack” singer Justin Timberlake tweeted, “Much love to the one and only @jayleno. Thank you for all the laughs and great times! Also... Can I have a car? No? Ok, cool.”
One of the night’s guests Oprah Winfrey posted a pic to Instagram with the message, “So long farewell @jayleno! Backstage today before Jay's final show.”
Rival Jimmy Kimmel also tweeted some respect- “Issues aside, 20 years at #1 is a remarkable achievement. Congratulations and best wishes to @jayleno on an incredible run.”
Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg had some kind words for the departing host- “Fare thee well Jay Leno U are going out on top...TOP we will miss you on the Tonight Show, whoever thought being number 1 wasn't good enough.”
And even Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi weighed in- “Just wanna say thank you for always being the sweetest and having me on your show these past 4 years! Great times! Big fan @jayleno.”
Finally, both President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama shared some love- “Thanks for all the memories, @JayLeno!” and, “Thanks for the memories and the laughs, @JayLeno! Wishing you good health and a great journey ahead,” respectively.
