Singer/Songwriter Matt Nathanson: Taylor Swift Stole My Lyrics!
She’s well-known for her clever lyrics, but it seems Taylor Swift has been accused of stealing a line from a Matt Nathanson song for her new track “All Too Well.”
The “Should’ve Said No” singer’s lyric reads, “and I’ll forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to.”
However, Nathanson’s “I Saw” from 2003 includes the line, “and I’ll forget about you long enough to forget why I need to.”
T Swifty has made no secret that she’s an admirer of Nathanson’s work in the past, so when he posted, “She’s definitely a fan… and now she’s a thief,” Taylor’s followers launched an all-out tweet attack on Matt.
In response, he posted, “so far, my favorite thing about today is the wave of @taylorswift13 fans calling me a p***k on twitter for writing ‘i saw’ in 2003.”
