Last week David Letterman made a lewd joke about Sarah Palin’s daughter Willow (14), and today the Governor of Alaska accepted the late night funnyman’s apology.

In a statement released this morning, Palin stated, "Of course, it's accepted on behalf of young women, like my daughters, who hope men who 'joke' about public displays of sexual exploitation of girls will soon evolve.”

Brought into the spotlight upon her mother's recent vice presidential run, Bristol Palin welcomed a healthy baby boy named Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston into the world on Sunday (December 28).

According to a People magazine report, the 18-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin delivered her and boyfriend Levi Johnston's son (who weighed in at 7 lb., 4 oz.) in Palmer, Alaska.

Continuing along with their hectic Republican National Convention schedules, Republican presidental candidate John McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin were spotted meeting up with Sarah's daughter and her babydaddy on Wednesday (September 3).
