Checking out some timeless pieces, Salma Hayek joined her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, for the Girard-Perregaux Exhibition held at Christie's in Paris, France on Monday (September 3).

Wearing her hair in a sleek ponytail, the "Savages" actress looked darling in a black lacy dress with peep-toe pumps while supporting her hubby who sauntered up to the podium for a speech during the event.

The 46-year-old actress recently faced a bit of backlash from fans after an interview with German Vogue magazine. In spite of the reaction, Miss Hayek quickly straightened things out by releasing a statement.

"I have never denied my background or my culture," the brunette beauty explained, "I have taught my child to embrace her Mexican heritage, to love my first language, Spanish, to learn about Mexican history, music, folk art, food, and even the Mexican candy I grew up with."

Blaming the mix-up on a translation issue, Salma continued, "I have always been an active part of my community. I have tried my whole life to represent my Mexican roots with honor and pride. It saddens me when my words are lost in translation and taken out of context to hurt the people of Mexico, whom I love."
