Rooney Mara to Replace Mia Wasikowska in “Carol”
She’s been pretty selective about the roles she accepts, and Rooney Mara's latest gig will be as Mia Wasikowska’s replacement in “Carol.”
Also starring Cate Blanchett, the film is slated to begin production later this fall, with a release date tentatively slated for mid-to-late 2014.
Per the synopsis, “Carol follows the love affair between a department store clerk and a wealthy married woman who longs for a new life.”
Based on the Patricia Highsmith novel “The Price of Salt,” “Carol” is set in New York City during the 1950s.
