Its been a tough year for Robin Roberts, but on Monday (May 20) she received a standing ovation at the 72nd annual George Foster Peabody Awards for her incredible journey.

The "Good Morning America" co-anchor accepted an award on behalf of her ABC program for it's wide range of coverage on her bone marrow transplant.

According to The Hollywood reporter, Roberts took the stage to accept the accolade and explained it had been "eight months to the day since [her] transplant," which resulted in a standing o from the entire crowd.

As previously reported by GossipCenter, Robin was diagnosed with bone marrow disease back in June of 2012 before undergoing surgery in September.

The 52-year-old television personality, who is also a breast cancer survivor, made a triumphant return to "GMA" exactly five months after her surgery date.
