The Lincoln Center in New York City was definitely the place to be last night. Glamour’s Women of the Year 2007 was in the house, and some big names showed up for the festivities.

Abigail Breslin was named the first ever Girl of the Year. She’s been a huge hit ever since “Little Miss Sunshine” made its way into theaters. And with the success of “No Reservations,” Breslin is on her way to a serious career in film.

It’s been announced that Ellen DeGeneres will be the host of the upcoming Academy Awards, making her the second female to host the event on her own, only behind Whoopi Goldberg.

Ellen, who is currently in a relationship with Portia de Rossi, seems to many to be a 'safe' choice by the Academy. She’s known to be easy going, a little dry and self-deprecating, which is a dramatic turn from the last two hosts – Jon Stewart and Chris Rock, both who are known for being risky and abrasive.
