Oprah Winfrey: Gearing Up for HBO Project
Her fledgling OWN Network got off to a rocky start, but that hasn’t dampened Oprah Winfrey's spirits from getting creative for HBO.
The “Oprah’s Next Chapter” guru’s Harpo Films production company has begun developing a new drama for the premium cable network.
According to a Hollywood Reporter report, the show “centers on the first black president of a prestigious liberal arts college who has been thrust into the national headlines while also engaging in ‘agonizing personal battles’ and ‘dark obsessions’ away from the public eye.”
The still-untitled gig will be written by Thomas Bradshaw and produced by Bradshaw, Winfrey, and Kate Forte.
