Naomi Watts Makes Debut as Princess Diana
After getting glammed up, "The Ring" actress ditched her white robe for a sparkly gold gown which she paired with a layered diamond necklace and black clutch to shoot a scene of where she climbs out of the backseat of a car and greets fans as she arrives at a red caret event.
"Caught in Flight" is said to follow the last two years of Princess Diana's life before her tragic death in 1997 and is also expected to focus on her secret affair with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Kahn, as well as her her time with Dodi Fayed - who she was with when she died in a car crash at the age of 36 in a Paris tunnel.
Admitting she didn't want the role initially, the 43-year-old said, "She is a part of our history, an incredible woman and fascinating but a tragic ending. The film-makers came to me and it’s a good script and it’s very scary and I kind of wanted to say ‘no’ but I couldn’t."
While preparing for the role, Miss Watts moved to London’s Kensington and reportedly visited some of Diana’s favorite places including The Harbour Club and Beauchamp Place.
"Caught in Flight" is expected to hit theaters on February 20, 2013.
