Stoked to perform her new music for a huge audience, Miley Cyrus lit up the stage at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards (August 25).

The sassy songstress was joined onstage by a gaggle of back up dancers as she belted out "We Can't Stop" before Robin Thicke appeared and the twosome took on his hit "Blurred Lines."

Adding even more star power to the mix, 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar got in on the action with the young star.

Speaking about her turn on stage, Miley told MTV News "Hopefully this is the best VMA performance of all time. That's the standard I'm setting. I just think it's going to be so much fun... feeling the energy in rehearsals, it feels so good. It was kind of this crazy dream that's we've been having this past month, so now to have it come to life is really beautiful."

Tonight, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Justin Timberlake will all hit the stage with brand new songs, as MTV celebrates the 30th anniversary of the VMAs

Additionally, JT will also be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for his longstanding and innovative contributions to the music video realm.
