It's a silver screen favorite, and now, nearly 24 years after "Dirty Dancing" made its debut, Lionsgate has announced plans to remake the 1980s classic.

The 1960s-based film, which previously starred Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze, will sit under the direction of the movie's original choreographer Kenny Ortega for the reboot.

While in an interview with Variety, Kenny, who has also helmed major big screen projects like Michael Jackson's "This Is It" as well as "High School Musical," talked up his new gig, telling, "The opportunity to direct Dirty Dancing is like returning home for me," adding, "Growing up in the '60s on the dance floor helped define me as a person and as an artist."

Despite his excitement, Ortega knows finding the right cast will be a challenge, as he explained, "Patrick Swayze set the bar for men dancing in the movies as Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire did before him."
