Despite the Northeast blizzard, movie-goers flocked to the box office, handing "Identity Thief" the top spot for the weekend of February 8-10, 2013.
The Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman-fronted comedy took in an impressive $36 million for its opening week in theaters.
Sliding into the second spot was last week's number one, "Warm Bodies," which garnered a three day total of $11.5 million.
Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings are the Channing Tatum led "Side Effects" ($10.5 million) in third, Jennifer Lawrence's romantic drama, "Silver Linings Playbook" ($6.9 million) in fourth and action fantasy "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" ($5.75 million) in fifth.
