Box Office: "Identity Thief" Reclaims #1 Spot

Regaining its opening weekend strength, "Identity Thief" stole first place at the box office for the weekend of February 22-24, 2013.
The Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman-fronted comedy took in $4.0 million on Friday with a $14 million total for its third week in theaters.
Sliding into the second spot was the new Dwayne Johnson action thriller, "Snitch," garnering a $3.7 million Friday and a total take of $12.8 million in its opening weekend.
Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings are the Weinstein Co's animated "Escape from Planet Earth" ($11.1 million) in third, Nicholas Sparks love story, "Safe Haven" ($10.7 million) in fourth, followed by "A Good Day to Die Hard" ($9.7 million) in fifth.
