Michael Fassbender in ELLE UK December 2013: I Never Really Thought of Myself as Good Looking
While rocking a few poses for the David Bailey-shot spread, the "X-Men: First Class" hunk chatted about his childhood.
Check out a few highlights from Mr. Fassbender's Q&A session below. For more, be sure to visit ELLE UK!
On his younger looks:
"I've never really thought of myself as good looking. I think of myself as, you know, alright. I used to be have bad acne as a teenager, so all of this is a bonus now, the fact that I don't have pimples any more. And my hair was also, you know, unfortunate. I had really long hair. I mean, I tied it back most of the time, but I had all these frizzy bits coming off the top. I'm not oblivious to it."
On the attention women now give him:
"I'm not oblivious to it. It's not like I think I've become more charming or good-looking overnight. But, no, I haven't lost any respect [for women]. I'm an alright judge of character, so you can figure these things out."
On his guitar playing days:
"Playing guitar in a heavy metal band was the goal. I practiced two hours a day, every day, whenever I could when I came home from school. And, then my friend came around with his guitar one day, and he blew me out of the room. I was like, he's got what it takes; I don't. And, around the same time, I did some acting classes. I did a couple of those and thought, this feels right. Most of the things I was participating in at school, including sports, I was average. But, this felt like I had an affinity to it. I felt I could express myself in that medium."
