Director is Irked That Linday Lohan was a No-Show at "The Canyons" Showing in Venice
She was all about her cell phone while leaving a Manhattan hotel Friday (August 30), but thankfully Lindsay Lohan put it away when she got behind the wheel of her car and drove away.
The actress was a no-show at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of her new flick, “The Canyons.” At a press conference, director Paul Schrader said, “She was supposed to be here today. She said she would be, but she is not.” Maybe she was trying to call him, and send her regrets, on that cell phone?
Schrader went on to say that he was now "a free man.” He explained, "For the last 16 months, I've been hostage, by my own choosing, to a very talented but unpredictable actress," he said.
A representative for Miss Lohan denied that she ever confirmed she’d appear at the festival: "She always wanted to come, but for reasons out of her control it did not work out. She is very happy the film is showing."
