Second European Mag to Publish Topless Kate Middleton Photos
After the royal family initiated legal action against the French magazine that posted topless photos of the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, a second European outlet has also announced plans to publish the controversial photos.
Italian gossip rag Chi will publish a 26-page spread on Monday featuring Kate in and out of her bikini. The same publishing house that owns Closer, the French magazine that first outted the pics, owns Chi. Silvio Berlousconi's publishing house, Mondadori holds both publications.
Chi editor Alfonos Signorini doesn't fear legal repercussions as Closer was the first to print the photos. He explained to the Associated Press, “Closer’s position is different, they were the first ones to publish. I don’t see anything morbid or damaging in them. Chi pays attention to respecting people’s dignity. I don’t think they hurt Kate’s image.”
Trying to mitigate any backlash, he added, "It shows in its total naturalness the daily life of a young, famous, modern couple in love."
