Kanye West Compares Kardashians to the Cosbys, Talks Filmed Proposal
He’s previously expressed his desire to stay out of the reality television spotlight, so when Kanye West allowed the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” cameras to capture his marriage proposal to Kim Kardashian, it seemed a bit peculiar.
During his interview with Hot 97FM, the “Love Lockdown” rapper explained that he wanted to please his lady, and also get the whole thing on tape for baby North West to see one day.
"When we got engaged I made sure the show was there [filming] because I felt like that's something that would make her happy.”
“Regardless of how it was shot, I felt like this is a moment she would like to have and would like to share, and just have that documented. And we could decide later or not if we wanted to air it."
Meanwhile, an insider shared that Kim and Kanye may allow cameras at their upcoming wedding. "If they choose to film the wedding, it will be filmed by them, not a TV crew. And they'd sell it to a network."
In addition, West explained the importance of displaying interracial relationships and said, “I’d like to point out that I feel that ‘The Cosby Show’ that I grew up on is part of the reason why America was prepped to accept, you know, a middle class black family in that way.”
He continued, “And a lot of what the Kardashians do that I don’t think they get enough credit, is they prep America to understand interracial relationships.”
