Excited for what's sure to be a fun filled holiday season with their two kiddies, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were out finishing up some last minute Christmas shopping in West Hollywood on Tuesday (December 22).

The former "Simple Life" star and the Good Charlotte rocker stopped by the Roseark jewelry boutique following Miss Richie's unsuccessful trip to 14 Karats the previous day.

Out for a good cause, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden spoke to a small crowd inside the Karsten Neighborhood Resource Center at a ceremony to open the Richie-Madden Children's Playground on Thursday (October 22).

The Richie-Madden facility is part of the Beyond Shelter neighborhood revitalization project in South Los Angeles, which is a 50-unit service-enriched housing complex designed to assist homeless families.
