Jay Z Christens New Barclays Center Arena In Brooklyn
Honored to pay tribute to his hometown, Jay-Z took center stage as the new Barclays Center Arena's debut performer in Brooklyn, New York on Friday (September 28).
The iconic 42-year-old rapper gave the crowd a nearly two-hour performance, which boasted some of his biggest hits, including "99 Problems," "Run This Town," "Dirt Off Your Shoulder," and "Empire State of Mind."
Jay, who grew up in the Marcy Projects of the burrow, explained that when it comes to entertaining, there's no place like home: "I've performed in a lot of places but nothing feels like tonight."
Stepping out to support her hubby was Beyonce, who glammed up the D'USSE VIP Lounge. A source told Us Weekly that the R&B songstress was "front and center" for all the action, "singing and dancing to every song."
Aside from the opening evening's festivities, Jay-Z is also scheduled to perform seven more shows at the arena.
