Lionsgate Announces Solution for Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Unfinished “Hunger Games” Scenes

He played Plutarch Heavensbee in the popular “The Hunger Games” movie franchise, and with the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman, things have become complicated for the Lionsgate studio.

The tragic demise of Hoffman occurred before he’d finished filming his scenes for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2,” forcing the producers to majorly improvise.

“The Hunger Games” Team Mourns Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Death

He was excellent as Head Game Maker Plutarch Heavensbee in “The Hunger Games” films, and Philip Seymour Hoffman will be missed by his costars and the production crew.

Director Francis Lawrence and author Suzanne Collins released a statement, saying, “Words cannot convey the devastating loss we are all feeling right now. Philip was a wonderful person and an exceptional talent, and our hearts are breaking. Our deepest condolences go out to his family."

Continuing work on the third installment of "The Hunger Games," Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth got cozy on set in Atlanta, Georgia this afternoon (October 1).

The co-stars filmed scenes, which appear to be in the middle of the deathly games, for "Mockingjay." During the shoot, the Katniss Everdeen rests her weary head on Gale Hawthorne's shoulder as the two await their fate in the outdoor set.
