Harry Connick Jr. Talks “American Idol” on “Ellen”
He’s done such a killer job as a mentor on “American Idol” that folks are starting to speculate that Harry Connick Jr. could be next in line at the judges’ table.
However, the “I Just Whispered Your Name” crooner told Ellen DeGeneres that he hasn’t received any offers up to this point.
Harry began, "I've [mentored] twice and I had so much fun, but they haven't said, 'Do you want to be a judge?' Like the security people and a couple of the interns say, 'Oh, you would be a good judge.' I'm like, 'Oh, well, thank you.'"
"But I haven't had an actual talk. And then I see online, like, I'm in talks. Even my wife is like, 'Wait, you're in talks with them?' I said, 'No. I'm not.' I haven't talked to anybody."
