Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Heads to Drug Rehab
He had quite a weekend that included throwing a temper tantrum and destroying instruments at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, and now Billie Joe Armstrong has checked into a drug rehabilitation clinic.
According to a report, the Green Day frontman will be seeking treatment for substance abuse due to an unspecified addiction. No further information has been released at this time.
Armstrong reacted violently on Friday (September 21) when his band’s performance slot was cut in half to allow more time for some of the other acts on the bill.
Earlier this month, Billie Joe was hospitalized for a supposed ‘voice-related’ issue, causing the band to cancel a gig in Italy.
