Golden Globes Red Carpet Floods!

With just a few short hours left until the kick-off to the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards, there appears to be a major problem on the red carpet!

Outside the show’s venue, the Beverly Hilton, a fire extinguisher was reportedly set off after a light fixture was placed too close to it.

The incident apparently occurred at 12:30 PST, and the alarm system is said to have sent sewage and water across the red carpet, possibly causing damage to cameras.

Ryan Seacrest shared some pictures of the mess via his Twitter account, writing, “Could be bad for long gowns.”

A representative for the Beverly Hilton and Hollywood Foreign Press Association has stated that, "We can confirm that there was a malfunction with a sprinkler near the red carpet. The situation was quickly resolved. Despite the incident the red carpet will open at its regularly scheduled time. As some of the biggest names in entertainment are scheduled to attend Golden Globe Awards tonight, we wanted to give the carpet one last wash before it opened."
