It certainly took long enough, but one star confirmed that the rumors are true - "Ghostbusters" is moving forward with the third installment in the comedy series, starting filming next summer.

While Bill Murray, who famously played Dr. Peter Venkman, will not appear in "Ghostbusters 3", Ivan Reitman will return as director.

In regards to the new film, Dan Aykroyd recently dished about his upcoming role, saying, "My character, Ray, is now blind in one eye and can't drive the cadillac. He's got a bad knee and can't carry the packs... Egon is too large to get into the harness. We need young blood and that's the promise. We're gonna hand it to a new generation."

With the production schedule planned, a release date of 2014 is probable, which would coincide with the 30th anniversary of the original "Ghostbusters".
