"The Help" Tops Slow Weekend at the Box Office

Continuing along with its strong theatrical showing, "The Help" took claim to the top spot at the box office over the weekend of August 19-21, 2011.

The Emma Stone fronted book-based picture pulled in $5.8 million on Friday while garnering a second weekend pull of $20.5 million.

Swinging into theaters nationwide, "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" took over the box office by shooting to the top spot over the weekend of August 5-7, 2011.

The James Franco/Freida Pinto starring origins-based picture pulled in an estimated $19 million on opening day while trending towards a solid $54 million weekend take.
