Despicable Me

It has earned a whopping $237 million domestically and $456 million worldwide, but “Eclipse” got knocked out of the #1 spot at the box office this weekend by “Despicable Me.”

The “Twilight Saga” flick landed in second place with a $33.4 million take, followed by “Predators” ($25.3 million), “Toy Story 3” ($22 million) and “The Last Airbender” ($17.2 million).

His fans will certainly be disappointed to hear, but it sounds like Steve Carell may not be returning to NBC’s hit show, “The Office.”

While chatting with press at the premiere of his new film, “Despicable Me,” the Michael Scott actor revealed, “When I first signed on I had a contract for seven seasons, and this coming year is my seventh. I just thought it was time for my character to go.”
