SeaWorld Attack: Eyewitness Accounts

Eyewitnesses are remembering what happened during last week’s killer-whale attack at Orlando’s SeaWorld on trainer Dawn Brancheau, who had worked with Orcas for 16 years.

Statements were released Monday by the sheriff’s office in Orange County, Florida about the attack that happened – describing the incident as extremely fast and requiring a very long recovery effort.

SeaWorld Trainer Laid to Rest

After her tragic death last week, Dawn Brancheau was laid to rest on Monday (March 1) in Alsip, Illinois.

Friends and family gathered for the funeral mass at a church called St. Rita’s and of the tragedy, a friend of Brancheau told press, "She's going to be missed by hundreds of people. It's a horrible thing."

SeaWorld Says Killer Whale Show Must Go On

Still reeling from the tragic death of trainer Dawn Brancheau, SeaWorld has announce that they’ll resume their killer whale shows this weekend.

CEO Jim Atchison announced that they won’t be permitting the trainers to enter the water with the whales at this time.

According to the latest reports, the 40-year-old was pulled underwater after the orca grabbed her by her ponytail while near the tank inside the Orlando theme park.

Dawn Brancheau’s Family Remembers Her Life

Tragedy struck SeaWorld Orlando when killer whale trainer Dawn Brancheau was attacked by a whale named Tilikum and died shortly thereafter.

And according to Brancheau’s mother Marion Loverde, Dawn had her heart set on working with the massive mammals ever since encountering the famous Shamu years ago.
