Clint Eastwood Saves Man From Choking
Quick to act on his feet, Clint Eastwood came to a man's aid during a volunteer party for the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am PGA Tour on Wednesday (February 5).
While enjoying a delicious meal, the "Gran Torino" legend noticed tournament director Steve John start to choke on a piece of cheese and quickly performed a successful Heimlich maneuver.
"I was drinking water and eating these little appetizers, threw down a piece of cheese and it just didn't work," Mr. John described the situation on Friday (February 7). "I was looking at [Clint] and I couldn't breathe. He recognized it immediately and saved my life."
The 83-year-old actor chimed in, "I looked in his eyes and saw that look of panic people have when they see their life passing before their eyes. It looked bad."
After Clint revealed this was the first Heimlich maneuver he ever performed, Steve replied, "I can't believe I'm 202 pounds and he threw up in the air three times."
Also describing another choking situation, Steve revealed, "It was in Colorado about seven or eight years ago. But it wasn't Clint Eastwood. I haven't talked to him since that night. It was crazy."
