Jean Stapleton Passes Away at 90
She was known best as one of television’s most beloved mothers, and on Friday (May 31), Jean Stapleton passed away in her New York City home at the age of 90.
Though she played many other roles in her long career, Ms. Stapleton’s most recognizable part was Edith Bunker in the 1970’s sitcom “All in the Family.”
That acting credit led her to win two Golden Globes and three Prime Time Emmy awards for Outstanding Lead Actress.
According to a statement made by her family on Saturday, the actress died of natural causes.
