He charmed audiences for decades as a country music legend, but Ray Price passed away on Monday (December 16).

The Texan with the golden voice is perhaps best known his take on the Kris Kristofferson song, "For the Good Times."

In 1996, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, but he humbly told the AP in 1976, "I'm my own worst critic. I don't like to hear myself sing or see myself on television. I see too many mistakes."

Sadly, in 2011 Ray was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and his final days were spent at home receiving hospice care.
