Esther Williams Passes Away

She made a name for herself as both an actress and a swimmer, and sadly Esther Williams died peacefully in her sleep earlier today (June 6).

The 91-year-old thespian rose to fame in the 1940s thanks to several high-profile roles in MGM Musicals such as “Bathing Beauty,” “Neptune’s Daughter,” and “Million Dollar Mermaid.”

Three "Storm Chasers" Lost in Oklahoma Tornado

Though they made it their life's work chasing twisters, Tim Samaras, his son Paul, and Carl Young perished in the tornado that hit El Reno, Oklahoma on Friday (May 31).

The "Storm Chasers" stars were struck by an EF3 tornado with winds up to 165 mph while trying to research the devastating forces of nature.

Jean Stapleton Passes Away at 90

She was known best as one of television’s most beloved mothers, and on Friday (May 31), Jean Stapleton passed away in her New York City home at the age of 90.

Though she played many other roles in her long career, Ms. Stapleton’s most recognizable part was Edith Bunker in the 1970’s sitcom “All in the Family.”

Ray Manzarek of The Doors Dies at 74

Over forty years after his bandmate Jim Morrison died, Ray Manzarek of The Doors passed away on Monday (May 20).

According to his publicist, the 74-year-old keyboardist died in Germany after a long battle with bile duct cancer. He is survived by his two brothers, wife, son, and three grandchildren.

Dr. Joyce Brothers Passes Away at Age 85

After being treated for an unspecified illness for the past several weeks, soap star Jeanne Cooper passed away on Wednesday (May 8) at the age of 84.

The veteran actress played the role of Katherine Chancellor on "The Young and the Restless" since 1973 and won a Daytime Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama Series in 2008.

Jeff Hanneman of Slayer Dies

After spending thirty years rocking out with the band Slayer, guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed away on Thursday (May 2).

According to a statement on the band's Facebook page, "Slayer is devastated to inform that their bandmate and brother, Jeff Hanneman, passed away at about 11AM this morning near his Southern California home. Hanneman was in an area hospital when he suffered liver failure. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his sister Kathy and his brothers Michael and Larry, and will be sorely missed. Our Brother Jeff Hanneman, May He Rest In Peace (1964 – 2013)."
