Jena Malone Scores “Catching Fire” Gig

The competition has been fierce for the role of Johanna Mason in the upcoming “Hunger Games” sequel “Catching Fire,” and it seems Jena Malone has come out on top.

According to a report, the “Sucker Punch” starlet has signed on to play the outspoken tribute from District 7 who goes up against Jennifer Lawrence’s character Katniss in the “Quarter Quell.”

Sam Claflin to Join "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" Cast?

Several reports are saying "Snow White and the Huntsman" actor Sam Claflin the frontrunner or on the short list to play Finnick in the sequel to "The Hunger Games." Though Lionsgate has not confirmed the rumor, Variety's Jeff Sneider confirmed that Claflin was on the studio's short list.

If cast, the 26-year-old British actor will play Finnick Odair, a former winner of the "Hunger Games" who befriends Katniss at the Quarter Quell.

It’s one of the hottest trilogies in the making and according to recent reports, Jena Malone may have her hands on a role in “Catching Fire.”

The “Sucker Punch” beauty may be playing the role of Johanna Mason in the anticipated “Hunger Games” sequel, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter this afternoon (July 3).

“The Hunger Games” Sequel Selects Director

It was a bit of a shock when Gary Ross announced he’d be parting ways with the ultra-successful “The Hunger Games” franchise, but Lionsgate has already found a new director to take his place.

According to a report, Francis Lawrence will get the offer to helm “Catching Fire,” and he’ll more than likely accept the gig.
