After being acquitted of murdering her child in 2011, Casey Anthony made her first public appearance in federal court on Monday (March 4).
Emerging to testify in her bankruptcy case, the 26-year-old told the court, "I don’t pay rent. I don’t pay utilities. I live off the kindness of those I’m living with. I try to contribute when I can."
A little more than a year after being acquitted of murdering her daughter, Casey Anthony has filed for bankruptcy in Florida.
Unable to find steady employment since the court proceedings ended, the 26-year-old mother of the late Caylee, listed her assets as $1,100 and her debts as $792,000.
She’s been staying out of the media ever since being acquitted of killing her daughter Caylee, and now Casey Anthony has broken her silence.
The 26-year-old former murder suspect told Piers Morgan that she still maintains her innocence- "I did not kill my daughter. There's nothing in this world I've ever been so proud of. There's no one I loved more than my daughter. She's my greatest accomplishment."
