Alec Baldwin’s “Orphans”: Closing Six Weeks Early

Given the massive amount of hype it generated, it’s difficult to believe that “Orphans” has received such a lackluster response on Broadway.

In fact the production, starring Alec Baldwin, Tom Sturridge, and Ben Foster, will actually close on May 19th rather than the original date of June 30th.

Fitting in a matinee, Katy Perry headed over to the Tony-nominated show “Kinky Boots” in New York City on Wednesday afternoon (May 1).

The “Firework” singer donned a floral dress with strappy shoes as she quickly made her way past the awaiting paparazzi before heading into the Broadway theatre.

"Kinky Boots" Leads the 2013 Tony Awards Nominees

Each year there’s fierce competition to determine the best and brightest of Broadway, and the 2013 Tony Awards committee just revealed the new batch of hopefuls.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Sutton Foster rattled off the various nominees this morning (April 30), and of course, “Kinky Boots” is the darling of the year thanks to an impressive 13 nominations overall.

“Rocky: The Musical” Gets Start Date

It’s one of the most beloved underdog stories of all time, and “Rocky” is getting the Broadway treatment beginning next spring.

According to an announcement over the weekend, “Rocky: The Musical” will hit the Winter Garden Theater for previews in February 2014, with opening night scheduled for March.

Emma Stone: Broadway Bound in “Cabaret”

We may see Emma Stone in a brand new light. According to the Daily News, the 24-year-old actress is in talks to star in a “Cabaret” revival on Broadway.

According to reports, the “Easy A” star is in negotiations to portray Sally Bowles in a Roundabout Theatre Company performance of the legendary show.
