Beyonce Looks Stunning for World Humanitarian Day
Giving a breathtaking performance, Beyonce Knowles looking gorgeous in white at the United Nations on Friday night (August 10).
The 30-year-old superstar performed her rendition of “I Was Here” in the UN’s General Assembly Hall and recorded the song for a music video, which will debut on World Humanitarian Day on Sunday (August 19).
The “Single Ladies” singer performed in front of screens that displayed images of disasters from around the world.
She joined celebrities including Julia Stiles, The Dream, and diplomats from around the world to urge those to honor workers who have been killed in terrorsits attacks.
Also on hand was Anderson Cooper who hosted the event and joked, ““Is this what happens at the U.N. every Friday night?”
He went on to talk about the stunning performer saying, "Tonight [she] brings more than her stunning talents; she brings inspiration to help another person, to help another human being. When he slipped on the title for a second, calling the song "I Was There," it became evident that there were some Bey stands in the audience. They quickly corrected him and joined him in laughing it off, while he added, "in fact 'here' and 'there' is the same thing — that's solidarity."
The song that Beyonce performed was written by Diane Warren who was also in attendance and appeared on the star’s 2011 album “4.”
