Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys Passes Away
It’s a sad day in the world of hip-hop, as one of its pioneers, Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch has passed away.
The “Sure Shot” rapper, nicknamed MCA, was diagnosed with cancer back in 2009, though it’s still being determined whether or not his death was the result of the disease.
Back in 1979, Yauch formed The Beastie Boys with pals Ad Rock and Mike D and ever since they’ve been a force to be reckoned with, winning multiple Grammy awards and scoring multi-platinum records.
After learning of his cancer diagnosis in 2009, Adam told press, "I just need to take a little time to get this in check, and then we'll release the record and play some shows. It's a pain in the neck (sorry had to say it) because I was really looking forward to playing these shows, but the doctors have made it clear that this is not the kind of thing that can be put aside to deal with later."
Adam Yauch was 47 years old. Stay linked to the GossipCenter for the latest on this tragic and developing story.
