Update: According to the latest reports from TMZ and MSNBC, Larry Birkhead and Dannielynn "were both at a Bahamas doctor's office at 9 this morning and had samples taken. Howard K. Stern's DNA was not taken because by law there is a presumption that he's the father since he's listed as such on the birth certificate."
Late last week, Larry Birkhead left the courtroom smiling, stating that he believed "good things" were on the horizon. On Tuesday, his intuitions were proven to be correct, as he obtained an important victory in his fight to demonstrate his paternity of Anna Nicole Smith's infant daughter, Dannielynn.
The paternity suit over Dannielynn continues to rage on. The AP has reported that Anna Nicole Smith's ex-boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, emerged from a court hearing on Friday in a "happy mood," while Anna Nicole's mother refused to discuss the proceedings.
"I feel really good. What seems like has taken months and months in California basically is going pretty quick here in the Bahamas. I feel good about that. I think good things are coming pretty soon," Birkhead told Access Hollywood after the hearing adjourned.
The Miami Herald is reporting what could be a major development in the investigation into the death of Anna Nicole Smith.
The paper stated that Seminole police have met with homicide prosecutors in the state attorney's office to discuss the death of Anna Nicole Smith. The key words being homicide detectives... inferring that Anna Nicole may have been murdered.
In the case that just keeps on going, a judge said yesterday that Anna Nicole Smith's boyfriend at the time of her death might be forced to give DNA for a test to determine the father of her 6-month-old daughter, according to lawyers at the hearing.
Following a three-week battle for her corpse and amid legal wrangling over her 5-month-old baby, Anna Nicole Smith was finally laid to rest in the Bahamas on Friday March 2nd.
Reuters reported that "Smith's brown coffin, which was draped in pink sequined fabric with feathers and tassels that fluttered in the warm island breeze, was placed in a grave next to her dead son Daniel while a raucous crowd of onlookers cheered and shouted outside Nassau's Lakeview cemetery."
Twenty-two days after her death, Anna Nicole Smith is finally set to be buried in the Bahamas tomorrow, March 2nd, after her mother dropped her appeal for custody of Anna Nicole's body.
In the most recent event in the courtroom drama, Virgie Arthur has decided to abandon her efforts to challenge the decision made by a Florida appeal court that custody of the model's remains should go to Richard Milstein, the court-appointed guardian of her five-month-old daughter, Dannielynn.
In what has been summarized as a very emotional day, a teary-eyed Judge Larry Seidlin has ruled that the disposition of Anna Nicole Smith's body will be determined by Richard Milstein, the guardian ad litem of Dannielynn Stern.
While the judge recommended Anna be buried next to her son in the Bahamas, he revealed Milstein, to consult with Howard K. Stern, Larry Birkhead and Virgie Arthur to decide the final resting place of Anna.
