Amy Winehouse & Nas “Like Smoke”: Listen Now!
She may have left this world, but Amy Winehouse’s legacy lives on with her new single “Like Smoke” featuring Nas.
The first track from Winehouse’s posthumous Lioness: Hidden Treasures debuted on Hot 97FM, featuring Amy singing over a Motown backbeat, while Nas brings a lyrical fury to the mix.
Winehouse croons, "I never wanted you to be my man/ I just need your company. Don't want to get dependent on/ Your time then lose the way you love me/ Like smoke, I hung around."
Nas takes it from there- "It's not a movie, this is not a script or proofread/ I'll spit some untruths to dumb fools and groupies/ Fun to punctuate, pronunciate the funds I make... Like a polygamist, with a twist/ Will I marry again? Maybe, I guess/ I hold a lady's interest, I just me/ The love scholar, she the teacher's pet."
Amy’s cover version of “Our Day Will Come” has also seen the light of day. Lioness: Hidden Treasures drops on December 6th.
