Amanda Knox Found Guilty in Retrial by Italian Court
Dealt a harsh blow after she thought her legal woes were behind her, Amanda Knox has been found guilty of murder.
After hours of deliberation at the Florence courthouse in Italy, two judges and six jurors sentenced her to 28 years in prison while her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito earned a 25-year-sentence.
Back in 2009, the American citizen was convicted of killing Meredith Kercher in 2007 and served four years before her conviction was overturned in 2011.
Unfortunately for her, the acquittal was overturned by the Italian Supreme Court and a retrial concluded in the newest guilty verdict.
Currently safe in Seattle, the 26-year-old is unlikely to be extradited back to Italy. She may appeal the decision if she so chooses.
