Giving movie fans plenty to get excited about, Chris Hemsworth and Cheryl Boone Isaacs showed up at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Samuel Goldwyn Theater this morning (January 16) to announce the nominees for the 86th Academy Awards.

The “Thor” hunk looked pleased as he addressed the audience alongside the Academy President and read off the distinguished list of Oscar hopefuls.

If she’s able to convert her Best Supporting Actress nod into another win, Jennifer Lawrence will become the youngest actress to win two Oscars in a row (“Silver Linings Playbook” and “American Hustle”).

Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio will have to battle Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey, Bruce Dern, and Chiwetel Ejiofor for the Best Male Actor glory.

And the Best Actress nominees include Amy Adams, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench, and Meryl Streep.
