Viola Davis: 2012 Academy Awards Best Actress Hopeful

She's experienced a year in which she'll never forget, and Viola Davis is looking to top it off at the 84th Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday evening (February 26).

The 46-year-old actress took to the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center red carpet showing off her colorful green Vera Wang frock before heading inside.

Miss Davis is hoping to have what would be the biggest night in her career - as she's a favorite to take home Best Actress honors for her work in "The Help".

Making for quite the star-studded affair, celebrity presenters hitting the stage include Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz.

With "Hugo" leading the pack at 11 nominations while "The Artist" sits close behind at 10 chances for Oscar glory, the 2012 Academy Awards will be hosted by Billy Crystal and will broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, February 26th beginning at 7 ET.
