Kanye West and 50 Cent are battling it out this coming week to see who can produce the most sales with their new records, respectively. These two heavyweights in the world of hip-hop are making the unusual move of coming out with an album on the same day.
While the rap music industry is definitely fueled by a certain degree of hype, sometimes things can get heated. Take 50 Cent, for example. He’s having a pretty raucous exchange with rival Cam’Ron.
With street cred being as important as anything else in the hip hop world, Cam’Ron is hitting 50 where it hurts. Apparently he made fun of the “Party Up” rapper’s real name, Curtis, and said publicly that he’d lost his credibility for his comments about not protecting a serial killer’s whereabouts.
One of the best things about being a multi-platinum recording is the ability to meet hot girls backstage at concerts. Just ask 50 Cent. When he played London’s Hammersmith Apollo, he got to meet ex-Miss Great Britain Danielle Lloyd. And romance is in the air.
The former Celebrity Big Brother babe won 50’s heart that night. And ever since, he’s had Danielle on the brain.
If you’re underage, you may want to cover your eyes for this one. Apparently Justin Timberlake is guest starring on a new 50 Cent song for his upcoming album, Curtis. The sketchy part? It’s a song about loving pornography.
The dynamic duo (along with Timbaland) reportedly filmed a video for the song, tentatively titled “Ayo Technology” in London last weekend. The song will probably be retitled, “She Wants It” on the album when it hits stores September 4th.
Life is hard when you’re a multi-platinum, multi-millionaire, record label-owning, clothing line-designing enterpreneur. Just ask 50 Cent. He’s had to lay down the law when it comes to throwing money at the artists on his label.
It has been reported that 50 has ended the gravy train over at G-Unit Records. While in years past, he’s bailed his rappers out of poor financial decisions, and paid the way for the artists and their huge entourages to ride comfortably on the road, that season has come to an end.
If you have ever wanted to live in Connecticut, now might be the time to act on your aspirations. That is, if you have $10 million to throw at some new digs.
Back in 2003, rapper 50 Cent bought a 48,000 square foot estate for $4.1 million and tossed another $6 million into it over the past few years. He put in a helipad, and renovated the mansion top to bottom.
